What you can do on Pharma Mate
- Move through every page with a keyboard alone, using Tab, Shift and Tab, and Enter.
- Use the skip link at the top of each page to jump past the menu to the main content.
- See where you are on the page, because focused links, buttons and form fields show a clear outline.
- Zoom to 200% or more. The layout reflows to a single column on narrow screens, so you do not need to scroll sideways to read.
- Turn on reduced motion in your device settings. Pharma Mate has no decorative animation and turns off smooth scrolling when you ask for reduced motion.
- Use a screen reader. Pages use proper headings, lists and landmarks, images have text descriptions and links to other websites tell you they open another website.
- Follow links without relying on colour. Links in body text are underlined.
- Hear filter results announced. The support finder and directory report the number of results in a status message.
- Print any guide. Print styles remove the menu and controls and show the address of each external link.
How the site is built
Pharma Mate is a static HTML website with small amounts of JavaScript. Each page declares its language as British English, so screen readers use the right pronunciation. Form fields in the finder and directory have visible labels. Text and background colours are chosen for contrast. Pages load without third-party scripts or pop-ups.
Known limits
- The site search and the support finder filters need JavaScript. Without JavaScript, the full directory list and the page index still work.
- The support comparison table is long on small screens. Each row turns into a stacked card on phones, with labels for each column.
- Pharma Mate links to many other websites. Their accessibility is outside our control, and some provider sites are harder to use.
- The site has not yet had an external accessibility audit.
